2018 Jeep Wrangler
Why Buy the 2018 Jeep Wrangler?
You can choose between two models of Jeep Wrangler for 2018: the JK and the JL. The JK Wrangler is the one you know and love from 2017 with the same features carried over. The JL is all-new for the 2018 model year, launching a new generation in the Wrangler line. Sneak peeks are just beginning to surface, but we won’t see the official debut of the JL until the end of November.
Here’s what we know about the JL Wrangler so far. It’s is getting better gas mileage, up from 12/17 miles per gallon to 18/23 mpg. That’s still not stellar fuel economy, but definitely a welcome change and great for its class. The JL also comes in the conventional 2- or 4-door variety, or you can check out the new pickup configuration. If you’re worried about the Wrangler’s look changing, a leaked photo proves that the new generation still has that same iconic exterior. Both the JK and JL are expected to continue to put off-roading first, what the Wrangler brand is known for.
How Much Can the Jeep Wrangler Tow?
The Jeep Wrangler can tow up to 2,000 pounds, or about the weight of a couple of ATVs and their trailer. If you want more towing capacity, consider the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, which can pull 3,500 pounds. If that’s still not enough, then you’re definitely in the market for a full-size truck, not an SUV.
Is the Jeep Wrangler a Good Car?
The Jeep Wrangler does not get good gas mileage and wasn’t build for comfort, but that’s not likely what you’re looking for if the Wrangler is at the top of your list. The Wrangler is one of the absolute best off-roading vehicles on the market. It can tackle even some of the most punishing terrain where other SUVs dare not go and looks great in the city with the top down. If you plan on taking adventurous outings every weekend, then the Wrangler is probably the right car for you. If you stay home most weekends or comfort is paramount to you, a different SUV, such as the Jeep Cherokee, might be more to your liking.
Is the Jeep Wrangler AWD or 4WD?
Being designed with off-roading in mind, four-wheel drive comes standard on all Jeep Wranglers. The Jeep also has skid plates and is designed to tip precariously and still grip the surface.
